Sculpted by Anne Davidson in larger than life size and made of foundry cast bronze, this statue was unveiled in Edinburgh’s Festival Square in 1986.

It was commissioned by the City of Edinburgh after an open competition, to celebrate it’s stand against Apartheid.

The statue still stands in Festival Square, though not in its original location.
