This statue was first produced in 2005 for St Cuthbert’s College, a seminary located in Ushaw College, County Durham, England. It is based on Karl Hoffmann’s 1855 marble carving of “Our Lady of Ushaw” which was commissioned by Monsignor Charles Newsham, the President of Ushaw College from 1837 to 1863.

The Seminary closed in 2011, but Hoffman’s statue remains in place in St Cuthbert’s Chapel.
